Almont House is a riverside retreat on the Taylor River in Almont, Co., conveniently located between Gunnison, (15 mi. S.) and Crested Butte (18 mi. N.) and a quick walk to the free RTA bus stop. Almont House is a perfect haven, in a quiet setting, after a busy day enjoying all the local activities in the Gunnison valley. Or, plan to simply relax at the river.

Each season offers its own blend of recreation including, skiing, snowboarding, hiking, biking, world-class fishing, and hunting. The nearby wildlife refuge is home to bighorn sheep, deer, mountain goats, and elk, as well as bears that are occasional visitors to the river.
There is a bus stop at the end of the driveway providing free bus service to Crested Butte, Mt. Crested Butte, and Gunnison throughout the day and evening.
The Almont Resort and Restaurant, with a bar and outdoor patio, is only a short walk away, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner year-round.
Three Rivers Resort across the river bridge has a great outdoor BBQ during the summer season.

The Taylor River is known for world-class fly fishing. Staying at the Almont House includes private fishing access to the river from the private dock.
Almont House has 5 bedrooms: Sleeps 10 comfortably.
2 Masters with King beds, 2 Queen size beds in the loft bedrooms, One Queen plus a Bunk bed with a full and twin in the downstairs bedroom with walkout.
4 bathrooms; 2 in the masters; 1 in the loft, and one in the lower level bedroom.

The house was exactly as described, clean and very well furnished. The setting is beyond description - the view from the porch almost assures little use of the indoor spaces. Proximity to Three Rivers Resort made for an incredible rafting trip, a bar to grab a beer, and a convenience store for little things you might need. Proximity to an abundance of hikes and central to both Crested Butte & the Gunnison Airport made the location ideal. Will definitely be returning.

The house was perfect for us. We had two families(11 people) and were very comfortable. The location was awesome (right on the river). I don't think the photos do the place justice-it really was a great place to stay. We would love to come back.
